Good Afternoon, my sister and I attend Nov. 13th hearing via Zoom and was shocked ant the behavior of the democrats to make an amendment change and allow 5 minutes for the assembly members to read without prior knowledge and 5 minutes to argue. I have written to Jason Miyares without response asking him very simply, how laws are on the books and how is abortion allowed. I.E. GA BILL HJ1 THAT WILL AMEND THE VA CONSTITUTION TO ALLOW ABORTIONS UP TO FULL TERM? UNDER VA CODE &18.2-32 - ABORTION WOULD FALL UNDER "PREMEDITATED MURDER". VA CODE &18.2-32.1 KILLING A PREGNATE WOMAN AND HER CHILD - A. ANY PERSON UNLAWFULLY, WILLFULLY, DEILBERATELY, MALICICIOUSLY AND WITH PREMEDITATION KILLS THE FETUS OF ANOTHER IS GUILTY OF A CLASS 2 FELONY B. ANY OERSIB WHO UNLAWFULLY, WILLFULLY, DELIBERATELY, MALICIOUSLY AND WITH PREMEDIATION KILLS THE FETUS ON ANOTHER IS GUILTY OF A FELONY PUNISHABLE BY CONFINEMENT IS A STATE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY FOR NOT LESS THAT FIVE NOR MORE THAT 40 YEARS. VA CODE &18.2-32.3 iF AN UMBILICAL CORD HAS NOT BEEN CUT OR THAT THE PLACENTA REMAINS ATTACHED SHALL NOT BE CONSIDERED IN DETERMINING WHETHER A HUMAN INFANT HAS ACHIEVED AN INDEPENDENT AND SEPERATE EXISTENCE. (A CHILD THAT DID NOT DIE DURING A ABORTION) How is it that these laws can be violated via abortion, but in actual circumstances, these laws are in affect. I received a response from my delegate and was highly disappointed.... "When we do not have the votes to pass the legislation, politically it is a bad move". GOP felt HJ! would not pass....but it did!. It took me a week to acclimate my thoughts and I am committed to VMFA. However, I do work, and that gets in the way, but I want to fight these bills. My County GOP I am a part of but our chairman is a nay sayer...as is the VA Republican Chairman, who I would love to have impeached. I want to participate and get all 134 counties Republican committees to get involved instead of sitting on their laurels. My county same thing, but I am going to push this and will overstep my chairperson in order to activate our members. Please let me know what my next steps should be. Sincerely, Kathy Hoffman
